// PROTOCOL · REFUND POLICY
All sales final.
Paid Aegin subscriptions are non-refundable. The Free tier is how you evaluate the product before paying, and there is no separate trial of a paid tier. Refunds happen only in the narrow cases set out below, and in each one only as far as the law or the platform you bought through requires.
No refunds
Paid Aegin subscriptions are non-refundable. By paying you confirm that you had the Free tier available to you at no cost, that it was there for you to evaluate the product with, and that you accept paid time is not refundable except in the cases set out below.
There is no cooling-off window beyond what the law gives you, and there is no free trial of a paid tier unless we run one and say so at the time. The Free tier is the unpaid product. It is how you find out whether Aegin suits you before you spend anything.
This policy forms part of the Terms of Service at /legal/terms and should be read with them.
Narrow exceptions
Four things override the rule above, and in each case only as far as the law or the platform requires.
- DEFECTIVE OR UNDELIVERED SERVICE
- Where the Services are materially defective, fail to deliver substantially what was described, or were not delivered at all, you can ask for a remedy. We will try to repair the fault or restore access first, and where neither is practical we refund the affected billing period. A verdict you disagree with is not a defect. Output you found unhelpful is not a defect. A limit you found too strict is not a defect. A short interruption while we deploy or scale is not a defect.
- BILLING ERROR
- Duplicate charges, charges for a tier you did not buy, charges after a confirmed cancellation, and charges taken in error. We reverse these on verification, however long ago they happened.
- STATUTORY CONSUMER RIGHT
- Where your consumer-protection law gives you a right to a refund that cannot be waived, we honor it as far as it reaches. That includes the withdrawal right under EU Directive 2011/83/EU and Directive (EU) 2019/770 where you have not waived it at checkout, the defective-service right under India’s Consumer Protection Act 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules 2020, and equivalent rights elsewhere.
- PLATFORM REFUND
- Where Apple, Google, or another platform you bought through issues a refund under its own mechanism, that refund is theirs to grant. We do not control it and it is not governed by this policy. Paid access is removed once we are told the refund happened.
Nothing else qualifies. Change of mind, dissatisfaction with a verdict, forgetting to cancel, not using what you bought, downgrading, a change in your circumstances, and any reason not listed above are outside this policy.
We may also issue a refund or an account credit when we simply think it is the right thing to do. If we do, it is a one-off, it is not an admission that anything was owed, and it sets no precedent for you or for anyone else.
European Union, EEA, and United Kingdom
If you are a consumer in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from the contract within fourteen days of entering it, under Directive 2011/83/EU as amended and the equivalent local implementations.
At checkout you are shown a clearly labelled acknowledgement and have to confirm three things before the purchase can complete: that you ask us to start providing the paid service immediately, that you understand it is digital content or a digital service made available the moment payment is confirmed, and that you accept losing the right of withdrawal once it has started. Confirming waives the right for that purchase. Declining means the purchase does not go through.
The model withdrawal form and the details you would need to use it are available from support@aegin.live on request before the service begins.
India
If you are a consumer in India and paid through our Indian processor, you can request a refund where one of the exceptions above applies. The Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules 2020 require refunds within fifteen days where they are statutorily due, and we work to that timeframe for qualifying requests.
Change of mind, buyer’s remorse, and dissatisfaction with how the product judged you do not qualify under Indian consumer-protection law for a digital subscription that is available and working as described.
Apple App Store and Google Play
Subscriptions bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play are billed by the platform and refunded by the platform. We cannot issue, decline, or override one.
Apple: request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides each request under its own policy.
Google Play: request a refund at play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory. Google decides each request under its own policy.
A platform refund comes from the platform, and the paid access it bought is withdrawn. The platform tells us and we update your tier.
How to request
For anything covered by the exceptions above, email support@aegin.live from the address on the account. Include the account email, the transaction or order identifier, and one line on which exception you are relying on. If it is a defect, describe it well enough that we can go and look at it.
We acknowledge within two business days and resolve qualifying requests within fifteen business days. Once a refund is approved, settlement back to the original payment method takes another one to seven business days depending on the processor and your bank. We may ask for proof of purchase or verify that the account is yours before we act. A refund ends the paid access it covered, and the account returns to Free.
There is no phone call, no video call, no retention conversation, and no friction beyond verifying who you are and hearing what went wrong. We do not weigh how upset the request sounds.
Chargebacks and abuse
If you raise a chargeback with your card issuer before contacting us, we will dispute it. Come to us first. A genuine problem gets resolved faster here than at a bank.
Repeated chargebacks, or refund requests on a pattern that suggests the product was bought in order to be refunded, may result in the account being closed and referred to the processor. We may decline a refund request where we reasonably believe it is fraudulent or abusive, and we will say so when we do.
Changes
We update this policy as the product and the processors behind it change. The version in force is the one on this page, with the date it took effect at the top. Material changes are emailed to active subscribers and flagged here.
A change never applies retroactively to a request already submitted under an earlier version.
