Terms of Engagement

By using Aegin, you agree to be held accountable. Read before activating the protocol.

READ BEFORE ACTIVATING. These Terms constitute a binding legal agreement between you and Aegin (operated by A1zen-s). By creating an account, pressing "I ACCEPT THE CONSEQUENCES," or using any feature of Aegin, you agree to every clause herein. Ignorance of these terms is not a valid basis for disputes or refunds.


01. THE SERVICE

Aegin is a voluntary behavioral enforcement application. It enables users to voluntarily lock their access to selected mobile applications for user-defined durations ("Crucibles"), submit emergency access requests ("Pleas") that are evaluated by an AI judgment engine, and form social accountability groups ("Syndicates").

AEGIN IS A BEHAVIORAL TOOL, NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE. It is not a substitute for professional mental health, addiction treatment, or medical advice. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition.

Aegin (operated by A1zen-s) operates "Aegin" as an independent software product. We are not affiliated with Apple Inc., Google LLC, OpenAI LP, or any health platform referenced in our service.


02. ELIGIBILITY

You must be at least 17 years of age to use Aegin. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are of legal age to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction and that all information you provide is accurate.

Accounts are for individual use only. Corporate accounts, shared accounts, or accounts operated by automated scripts are prohibited.


03. SINGLE DEVICE RESTRICTION

Each Aegin account may be active on exactly one (1) device at any given time. Signing into your account from a second device will immediately and automatically terminate the session on the first device, log it out, and wipe all locally cached session data.

This restriction is a core part of the protocol's integrity. Attempts to circumvent this restriction — including but not limited to factory resetting a device, using VPNs, or emulators — constitute a breach of these Terms and may result in account suspension.


04. APP BLOCKING & CRUCIBLES

When you activate a Crucible, Aegin enforces app restrictions using platform-provided system APIs: Android UsageStats + Accessibility Service (Android) or Apple FamilyControls + ManagedSettings (iOS). These restrictions are governed by your device's operating system. We cannot guarantee 100% blocking in all circumstances, including:

  • OS updates that revoke granted permissions
  • Device reboots that reset accessibility services
  • Manufacturer-specific Android customizations
  • iOS Simulator environments that lack FamilyControls entitlements
  • Apps installed after a Crucible is activated

BY USING AEGIN, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT APP BLOCKING IS BEST-EFFORT AND NOT GUARANTEED. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY HARM RESULTING FROM BYPASSED RESTRICTIONS OR UNINTENDED ACCESS TO BLOCKED APPLICATIONS.


05. EMERGENCY OVERRIDES & PLEAS

You are entitled to a maximum of five (5) emergency override requests ("Pleas") per 7-day rolling window. Each plea is evaluated by an AI judgment engine using your submitted text, biometric context, and plea history. The outcome — approval or rejection — is final and non-negotiable.

Submitting false, exaggerated, or fabricated emergency claims constitutes misuse. Patterns of plea abuse may result in plea privileges being permanently revoked from your account.

WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR MISSED ALARMS, MISSED EMERGENCIES, MISSED COMMUNICATIONS, PROFESSIONAL OBLIGATIONS, MEDICAL ACCESS, OR ANY CONSEQUENCES RESULTING FROM AN APP BLOCK, A REJECTED PLEA, OR A FAILED OVERRIDE.


06. SUBSCRIPTIONS — PAYMENT & REFUND PROTOCOL

Aegin offers subscription-based clearance tiers (Student, Plus, Pro) accessible via our web portal at aegin.live/plans. Web subscriptions are processed by Paddle, who acts as our Merchant of Record.

6.1 Payment Processors

Web-based subscriptions are processed by Paddle (global, USD/EUR/GBP) and Razorpay (India, INR). In-app PAC purchases are processed by Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Payment card data is never stored by Aegin.

6.2 The 14-Day Reversal Protocol (Paddle Subscriptions)

In compliance with EU/UK consumer protection law, Paddle provides a 14-day statutory right of withdrawal on all digital subscriptions purchased via the Paddle gateway. To invoke this right, contact support@aegin.live within 14 days of your purchase date with the subject line "REVERSAL PROTOCOL."

After the 14-day reversal window expires, subscription payments are non-refundable. See the Refund Policy.

6.3 PAC (Permanent Aegin Credits) — No Refund

ALL in-app PAC PURCHASES ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE. Upon purchase confirmation, credits are immediately allocated to your account. Chargebacks without prior support contact result in immediate account suspension.

6.4 No Cash Value

PAC have no monetary value, are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be converted back to real currency under any circumstance.


07. BIOMETRIC DATA & AI PROCESSING

By enabling biometric integrations (HealthKit / Health Connect), you grant Aegin permission to read sleep duration, resting heart rate, and HRV data. This data is transmitted to OpenAI via encrypted API calls solely for the purpose of contextual AI judgment.

AI Judgment outcomes are probabilistic and may be incorrect. Aegin (operated by A1zen-s) makes no warranty as to the accuracy, appropriateness, or fairness of AI decisions.


08. SYNDICATES & SOCIAL FEATURES

By joining a Syndicate, you accept that your username, plea content, and approval/rejection outcomes are visible to your Syndicate members. You may leave a Syndicate at any time; historical data visible to other members before your departure is not retroactively removed.

You are responsible for the content of your plea submissions. Content that is threatening, harassing, or illegal will result in immediate account termination.


09. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AEGIN (OPERATED BY A1ZEN-S) AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: LOSS OF PRODUCTIVITY, MISSED COMMUNICATIONS, PHYSICAL OR PSYCHOLOGICAL HARM, DATA LOSS, FINANCIAL LOSS, OR DAMAGE TO RELATIONSHIPS ARISING FROM USE OF — OR INABILITY TO USE — THE AEGIN APPLICATION.

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or limitation of liability, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law and, in no event, to more than the amount you paid for the Service in the 90 days preceding the incident.


10. TERMINATION

Aegin (operated by A1zen-s) reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account at any time for breach of these Terms, misuse of the plea system, fraudulent chargebacks, or any behavior deemed harmful to other users. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of unused PAC.

You may close your account at any time by contacting support@aegin.live. Account closure terminates your access to the Service but does not discharge obligations incurred prior to closure.


11. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Aegin (operated by A1zen-s) is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in a forum agreed upon by both parties, except where prohibited by local law.


12. CHANGES TO TERMS

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification and a 30-day notice period. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to revised Terms, your only remedy is to delete your account.
