AEGIN

// PROTOCOL · TERMS OF SERVICE

The agreement, in full.

LAST UPDATED · 14 MAY 2026EFFECTIVE · 14 MAY 2026JURISDICTION · INDIA · GLOBAL

These Terms of Service govern your use of Aegin. Read them in full before creating an account or paying for a subscription. All paid subscriptions are non-refundable except as set out in §05 and in the Refund Policy. The Free tier is what is available without payment; there is no separate trial period. By using Aegin you accept these Terms.

01.

The agreement

These Terms of Service form a binding agreement between you and Aegin Labs (the operator of the aegin.live website and the Aegin mobile applications, collectively the "Services"). By creating an account, downloading the application, or otherwise using the Services, you accept these Terms in full.

If you do not accept these Terms, do not use the Services. We do not negotiate individual terms.

02.

What Aegin is

Aegin is a behavioral enforcement protocol. The Services use automated decision-making — including artificial intelligence — to reason over your screen-time history, plea submissions, and other behavioral signals, and to render verdicts on requests to unlock applications on your device.

Aegin is not a medical device, a clinical service, or a substitute for professional advice. It is not designed to diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. If you are in crisis, contact qualified professional help or your local emergency services.

03.

Eligibility

You must be at least eighteen years of age and have legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction. This age floor applies uniformly worldwide and satisfies the requirement under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 for verifiable parental consent before processing personal data of any individual under eighteen.

You must not be located in or ordinarily resident in any country, territory, or jurisdiction subject to a comprehensive sanctions program applicable to us, and you must not appear on any applicable sanctions or denied-parties list.

We may decline service, suspend, or terminate any account that does not meet these requirements without notice.

04.

Free tier and paid subscriptions

The Aegin Free tier is a permanent product offering, not a free trial of any paid tier. There is no separate free-trial period for paid tiers. The Free tier is what is available without payment; paid tiers (Plus, Pro) are what is available with payment.

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. The billing mechanism depends on where you purchase: subscriptions purchased inside the Aegin iOS application are processed by Apple via In-App Purchase under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions; subscriptions purchased inside the Aegin Android application are processed by Google via Google Play Billing under the Google Play Terms of Service; subscriptions purchased on the aegin.live website are processed by Paddle (for customers outside India) or Razorpay (for customers in India). The cycle, currency, and billing entity are confirmed at checkout.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless cancelled before renewal. Cancellation is at least as simple as enrollment. Subscriptions purchased on the web may be cancelled from your account settings on aegin.live at any time without contacting support, without retention conversations, and without identity-verification friction beyond proving you are the account holder. Subscriptions purchased through Apple or Google are cancelled through the subscription-management interface of that platform and, in accordance with the applicable platform terms, cannot be cancelled by us on your behalf. Cancellation prevents the next renewal; you retain paid-tier access for the remainder of the current period.

For Indian-card auto-renewals processed by Razorpay, the Reserve Bank of India e-mandate framework applies: you will receive a notification at least twenty-four hours before each recurring debit; first-time registration of the mandate requires an additional factor of authentication (one-time password or UPI personal identification number); and recurring charges in excess of ₹15,000 per cycle require additional-factor authentication at the time of each such charge. These mechanisms are operated by Razorpay and your card-issuing bank, not by Aegin Labs.

Prices may change. Where required by your applicable law — including without limitation California Civil Code §17602 and the Federal Trade Commission Negative Option Rule — we will provide written notice of a price change between seven and thirty days in advance of the change taking effect, with the current amount, the new amount, and the date of the change clearly disclosed, and we will seek any required affirmative consent before charging at the new price.

05.

All sales final

All paid subscriptions are non-refundable. By paying for a subscription, you acknowledge that the Free tier is available without payment and that you have had the opportunity to evaluate the Services through the Free tier before paying.

The non-refundability of paid subscriptions is subject only to the following exceptions, in each case to the minimum extent required: (a) where the Services are defective, materially different from description, or not delivered, in which case you may request a remedy under §06; (b) where your applicable consumer-protection law grants you a non-waivable right to a refund or to withdraw from the contract, in which case we will honor that right to the extent it applies; (c) where the platform of purchase (Apple App Store, Google Play, Paddle, Razorpay) issues a refund through its own mechanism, in which case the refund is processed and granted by that platform under its own policies and is not subject to these Terms.

You acknowledge and agree that, where you purchase a paid subscription through the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, you expressly request that Aegin begin providing the paid service immediately upon checkout, that the service constitutes digital content or a digital service that becomes available to you on confirmation of payment, and that you lose your right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU and Directive (EU) 2019/770 once the paid service has begun. This acknowledgement is presented at checkout and must be affirmatively accepted to complete the purchase.

Outside the exceptions in this section, all sales are final. We do not offer refunds for change of mind, dissatisfaction with verdicts, dissatisfaction with model outputs, lack of use, or any reason not enumerated in this section.

06.

Defective or undelivered service

If the Services are materially defective or fail to deliver substantially what is described, contact support@aegin.live within a reasonable time of the defect arising and we will work in good faith to remedy the issue. Available remedies include, in order of preference: repair of the defect, an equivalent grant of access, or — where neither is practical — a partial or full refund of the affected billing period.

A verdict you disagree with is not a defect. Model outputs you find unhelpful are not a defect. Subjective dissatisfaction with the protocol is not a defect.

07.

Platform-purchased subscriptions

Where you purchased a subscription through Apple App Store, Google Play, or another platform that handles billing on our behalf, refunds are governed by that platform's policy and processed through that platform. We do not control, override, or supplement the platform's refund mechanism. Apple offers refunds through reportaproblem.apple.com. Google Play offers refunds through play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory.

For subscriptions billed through Paddle or Razorpay, refund eligibility is determined first by these Terms (§05–§06) and second by the relevant processor's policy. Chargebacks initiated through your card issuer may be disputed by us; we recommend contacting support@aegin.live before initiating a chargeback because we can typically resolve legitimate issues faster than your bank can.

08.

Automated decision-making

When you submit an unlock request, the Services render an automated decision — approve, force a pause, or deny — using behavioral and contextual inputs. By using the Services, you consent to these automated decisions for the operation of the protocol you have chosen to use.

Where your applicable law grants a right to human review of an automated decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you, you may request review by writing to support@aegin.live. Disagreement with the outcome of a verdict, without more, does not constitute grounds for human review.

09.

Acceptable use

You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to circumvent the lock-enforcement layer or any other access-control mechanism of the Services.

You may not submit false context in plea submissions or otherwise attempt to manipulate the automated decisioning system.

You may not use the Services to harass, threaten, defame, impersonate, or otherwise harm another user, whether through chat, social features, or any other channel.

You may not use the Services for any unlawful purpose under your applicable law.

You may not resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Services or any part of them.

10.

Termination

You may terminate your account at any time from in-application settings. Termination triggers the retention timelines set out in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for breach of these Terms or where required by applicable law. Where your account is terminated for material breach, paid-period balances are not refunded except where required by applicable law.

Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including §05 (All sales final), §11 (Disclaimers and limitation of liability), §12 (Governing law and disputes), and intellectual-property provisions — survive termination.

11.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that automated decisions will be free of error.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to your use of the Services, whether in contract, tort, statute, or otherwise, is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred United States dollars or the equivalent in your local currency.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable consumer-protection or product-liability law.

12.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to the arbitration provision below and to any non-waivable right you have under your local consumer-protection law, the Indian courts at our principal place of business have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Services.

Mandatory arbitration. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Services, including the validity, scope, or enforceability of this arbitration provision, shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (India), seated in Bengaluru, with a sole arbitrator appointed under the rules of a recognized institutional administrator. The arbitral award is final and binding. Each party bears its own costs unless the arbitrator orders otherwise. This arbitration provision is intended to be enforceable under the Federal Arbitration Act in the United States and equivalent statutes elsewhere.

Class-action waiver. All disputes are brought in your individual capacity only. You waive any right to participate as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, mass, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate or arbitrate any form of class, collective, or representative action.

India — consumer carve-out. Notwithstanding the arbitration provision and class-action waiver above, if you are a consumer ordinarily resident in India, you retain the right to bring proceedings under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 before any competent District, State, or National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, and to participate in any class action recognised under that Act. Arbitration is available to consumers ordinarily resident in India only at the consumer's election after a dispute has arisen; it is not a precondition to any other remedy available under Indian law. The Indian Supreme Court has held that consumer disputes are not arbitrable absent the consumer's post-dispute election, and that holding is preserved in full.

Where your applicable consumer-protection law grants you a non-waivable right to bring proceedings in your local courts, to have a dispute determined under local law, or to participate in a class proceeding, that right is preserved to the minimum extent the law requires.

Thirty-day opt-out (United States residents only). If you are a United States resident, you may opt out of the arbitration and class-action waiver provisions of this section by sending written notice to support@aegin.live within thirty days of first accepting these Terms. The notice must include your account email and a clear statement that you are opting out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other provision of these Terms.

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remainder remains in force.
